The Lost Boys of Neverland

                                            the lost boys

Barefeet annual Christmas show, jump aboard the Jolly Roger and let the adventures begin….

All children grow up. Except one.

The Lost Boys of Neverland For the first time in Lusaka, Barefeet will be presenting ‘The Lost Boys of Neverland’.  As part of our Christmas programme, Barefeet are going to present a brand new Christmas production, to be staged from 8th-11th December 2009. This original piece will be an adaptation of J.M Barry’s  ‘Peter Pan’ and is entitled ‘The Lost Boys of Neverland’.  It is a haunting tale of a young boy who never wants to grow up and his adventures with an army of lost boys, pirates and crocodiles in a fairytale land. It has been specifically designed for the festive period and is particularly appropriate for children. In this original adaptation of the novel, Captain Hook and the inhabitants of the Jolly Rodger have seem a lucrative loophole in piracy circles, they have decided that trading the lost boys as slaves will be the best way to replenish their diminished treasure. The Lost Boys must put all their faith in their hero ‘Peter Pan’. But will he be able to assist them this time or will the lost boys become the pirate boys destined never to have a mother?

Barefeet are grateful for the support you have shown them over the past few years. Your support has enabled us to help in the permanent withdrawal from the streets of many young people in Zambia. Through initiatives like our Christmas show, we are able to provide platforms for the children to express themselves. We are able to utilise the Christmas show as a chance to sprinkle a little bit of Christmas spirit to those less fortunate. So please be brave, come and walk the plank with us.

Duels, Dragons, Danger and a sprinkle of Fairy dust. Barefeet will guide you from the heart of Zambia, across the plains of Africa, through the winters of Europe to Neverland. Will the pirates reign supreme? Will the children manage to escape? And will the lost boys ever find a mother? Dare to attend the adventure at The Lusaka Playhouse on the public performances Thursday 10th and Friday 11th at 19:00 hours at Lusaka Playhouse.
