Barefeet And Tuku!

We’ve made it! Last year Bill Clinton, this year Oliver Mthukudzi!

One jewel in the crown of Barefeet 3 (Shine festival) was that Zimbabwean Music Legend, Oliver Mthukudzi came to Lusaka Playhouse on 17th October to watch the penultimate day of the Festival.

Oliver came with his band, the Balck Spirits, and was blown away by the Barefeet Magic. He watched Chisomo, and Mthunzi rock the stage, and was left speechless by our recycled ‘Tujuka/Tuju’ Greeting.

All together ‘TUKU……Mwah’.

That was just the beginning, as Barefeet seniors had the honour of opening the stage that night at Olivers one off concert in Lusaka. Joined by African Dance Factory (or African Dance Legends as we call them), the Barefeet team showed no signs of the strain of organising a week long festival. They rocked the 1000 + revellers, raised the temperature with their relentless energy, and even let a full life lion, loose on the audience! What a night!

Thanks to Kulture Consult for inviting us, and Creative Kids for their relentless energy and vision!! Perfect partners x
