Must be Barefeet 3! Shine Festival.
They did it again. The Barefeet children jumped, sang and shone for the whole week! It was amazing to watch. To think that some of these children had never performed before! You wouldn’t believe it.
What began as an anxious wait for performances, ended with a chorus of joyous screams as awards were announced, and the teams were rewarded for their work over the year. There were children from all walks of life and we were particularly grateful to welcome so many children from town. Everyone looked incredible in their costumes and make up.
Although we were all outshone by the staff from our centres who took part in the ‘celebrity care worker comedy fashion show’, we didn’t know our caregivers were such amazing performers. Barefeet dancers and children take note, the care givers will be a force to be reckoned with next year!!
Big thanks to everyone who helped organise and make the day so special for the children, especially those who brought the children from the copperbelt, the street and the centres! Despite the set back from sponsors (and lack of money), everyone helped us get through the week.

The money is coming and the sponsors WILL pledge to support this heart felt ground swell of desire to make a difference to the street children of Zambia and SHINE a light to children all over the world in need of support love and laughter .Our children ARE our future!
